With the rapid development of electrified railways across China, safety and speed have become core considerations for high-speed rail. However, the current pulley and wire rope tensioning systems face significant challenges. In Japan and Europe, electrified high-speed railways generally utilize systems combining large pulleys with thick galvanized steel wire ropes. This system, however, requires frequent maintenance and replacement, resulting in high maintenance costs. Furthermore, while domestic stainless steel wire ropes are corrosion-resistant, they experience significant vibration issues under high-speed train operation, and their breaking strength and fatigue life fall short of the high-speed and safety requirements.
Therefore, the development of a new type of steel wire rope for electrified railway overhead contact systems is crucial. This wire rope must possess high fatigue life, high breaking strength, excellent corrosion resistance, non-rotation properties, and high lay quality.
This product not only features a unique structural design, but also minimizes lay loss, achieves higher breaking strength throughout the rope, and exhibits superior resistance to bending fatigue and corrosion. Compared to conventional domestic overhead contact system steel wire ropes, this product offers significantly improved performance, even surpassing the physical quality of similar foreign products. The quality of the patented products produced by this method has reached the international advanced level, and has strongly promoted the overall technological progress of my country's metal products industry.
